Blizzard Entertainment today announced that World of Warcraft has become an overnight success in Europe, achieving record-breaking sales in its first 24 hours since the game launched on Friday, 11th February. World of Warcraft has sold-through an estimated 280,000* copies at retail on day-one, selling more units in one day than what was previously thought to be the overall cumulative size of the European MMORPG market. This figure rose to more than 380,000 units being sold-through by the end of the first weekend. You can read the rest of the Media Alert here. http://www.blizzard-europe.com/press/050215.shtml
* Based on internal company records and reports from key retailers in Europe.

One of the core tenets of the Warcraft universe is the raging conflict between the Horde and the Alliance. Old hatreds die hard, as they say, and the hate shared between these two ancient foes is deep and primal. That's why the player-versus-player gameplay has always been a staple of the design for World of Warcraft; the war between the Horde and the Alliance simply isn't over.
It might not look this way now, because our full player-versus-player system isn't in the game yet, but the introduction of Battlegrounds, and the full PvP reward system, will change that perception. We've been testing Battlegrounds and our reward system for weeks internally now, and we're ready to bring you a full-blown, multi-part preview of what we have in store for you in the months ahead.

Well peeps the story has ended for now. Me, Brivada and Horg had a tuff time yesterday trying to get as many screenshots as posible from the GM events happening all over the place.
The Crossroads was invaded by a nasty Guard as tall as the tallest buildings and Orgrimmar was invaded by nasty demon mobs and a big stony guy. The entrance to Undercity was being attacked by the same mobs as Orgrimmar(how they could be in 2 places at one time i do not know, proberbly some morphic spell or something :)
It was DOOMSDAY and it was fun. Check out the screenshots soon.
